Details

After an entire day of winching, this stone was slowly moved from the site of an old quarry spoil pile to its plinth beside a grove of bamboo. Its idiosyncratic shape is juxtaposes the vertical culms and is admired every time one walks through the nearby tunnel through the bamboo. It is named in honour of a late Friend – Norman Hoberman – whose sculpture in clay took on a similar texture and shape as this stone.
